Vol. 7 Issue 14 (June 2017)

The Journal of Health and Pollution (JH&P) is a quarterly online journal of peer-reviewed research and commentary published by Pure Earth (formerly Blacksmith Institute). The journal has received grant support from institutions including the World Bank and the European Union.  There are no article processing charges for authors and no subscription fees for readers.  JH&P supports open exchange on toxic pollution, effects on human health, and practical strategies for site remediation. For more on the publisher, visit www.pureearth.org.

What you will find in these pages

Articles in JH&P span field studies, exposure assessment, policy analysis, and technical notes on cleanup and prevention. Typical topics include heavy metals and industrial chemicals in soil, air, and water, community health near waste sites, artisanal mining and chemical safety, and monitoring methods that teams can repeat in low-resource settings. Each issue groups editorials, original research, and shorter reports so readers can move from context to evidence in one place.

Use the Issues list to browse volumes, open the table of contents for a sample issue, or run a search across authors and keywords. If you plan to submit work, start with the Instructions to Authors and the same peer-review standards described there.
